A Letter from the Founder

Dance has been a medium for communication and love through which I have had the opportunity to meet many inspiring people. Dance can be a language that is shared by people of all ages and cultures. It has been my constant endeavor to help people discover themselves through movement, especially through Classical Indian Dance Forms.

We would like to make Indian Dance more accessible and popular with the youth and encourage more people to incorporate dance into their daily lives.

Many thanks and gratitude to all my teachers, without whom I may not have discovered the joy of dancing…

Shri. Arjun Desai (Bharat Natyam, Manipuri)

Shri. Vijay Kumar and Smt. Vijaylakshmi Shrestra (Kathak)

Shri. Rajesh Desai, Shri. Shyam Mithaiwala, Shri Yogendra Desai (Indian Folk Dance)

Shri. Shankar Behra (Odissi)

Shri. Rodrigues D’Souza (Western Dances)

I would like to thank my husband, Jagdish Dalal, my children Viddhi and Dhanveer for being a constant source of inspiration, my mother-in-law, without whose support difficulties may have felt doubly difficult and my parents for acknowledging the dancer within me...

I would like to thank all my students at the J.B. Petit High School for inspiring me and for all the love and enthusiasm that they have shown towards this subject.

Hope to keep dancing,

Love,

Ila Dalal
